I believe that some of you like to give money to beggars. People usually
say that they give money because they feel sorry. Giving money to the
beggars will make some people feel good. Somehow I agree that people
must have compassion, but I think that people should stop to give money
to beggars. Allow me to convince you that giving money to beggars only
make everything worse.
Giving money only increase the amount of beggars, make the beggars lazier and help them to buy illegal drugs.
I agree with some laws that punish people who give money to beggars. The
main reasons why the governments make the law, because they know that
giving money only increase the amount of beggars. People like to get
money easily, right? If people give money easily to beggars, it will
invite the other lazy people who want to get money easily to beg too.
Then, we have to consider that many beggars are only lazy people. I
usually see a man begging across my boarding house. He is still strong
to work. Begging does not need any kind of skills. You just have to
walk, make up your appearance like poor, and stop before people to beg. I
understand that some of the beggars are different ability people, but I usually
see that the other different ability people can work and create some handmade
things. I also see in KM 0, one of place in Jogjakarta, some of beggars
are only gangsters. They are only some of scary man getting tattoos on
their body. They will force people to give them money. They use the
money to buy drugs and alcohol drinks.
Finally, I just want to state that let us stop giving money to beggars.
Instead of giving money in the street, we can give the money to
charitable institutions. we should have compassion, but we must also have
a smart perspective.
